ER70S-6 Is a general-purpose welding alloy for fabrication of mild steel. This alloy contains more deoxidizers than ER70S-3. The additional deoxidizers also provide better wetting, yielding a flatter bead shape and the capacity for faster travel speeds. It is used primarily for multiple passes on steels where rusty and dirty surfaces are not cleaned before welding. ER70S-6 is available for both GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes.
