DESCRIPTION

Collated, complete with the unclipped dustwrapper. A very scarce survival.

'Another Time' is a collection of Auden's shorter poems written between 1936 and 1939. They are the best known poems in Auden's career.

From the library of Allen and Beryl Freer. The Freers were avid art collectors, and acquired quite the selection over the twentieth century, of works mostly bought from the artists. Allen organised many exhibitions of artists he admired and published several works on art.

This collection is divided into three parts 'People and Places', 'Lighter Poems' and 'Occasional Poems'.  Well known poems include 'Oxford', 'A E Housman', 'Dover', 'Miss Gee', 'Refugee Blues', 'The Unknown Citizen',  'Musee des Beaux Arts', 'Spain 1937' and 'September 1 1939'.

A fantastic collection of Auden's best known works.
