Presenting a stunning vintage crystal owl paperweight / figurine designed by the legendary Folke Walving for the quality Swedish makers Maleros.

This wonderfully stylish and sophisticated owl has a sleekly curved dome-shaped form detailed with large engraved eyes and cut beak. The frosted surface of the engraved eyes beautifully contrasts the sparkling clear crystal adding fabulous definition to the refined design.

The solid crystal acts like a lens, spectacularly magnifying and distorting the light to create striking optical effects.

The sophisticated Scandinavian design reduces each element to its most simplest of forms creating a refined Modernist piece which will never go out of style.

SIZE: This charming owl stands approx 100mms tall, measures 80mms in width and 65mms in depth.

THE DESIGNER: Legendary designer, master engraver and skilled glass blower Folke Walving began working at Maleros in 1924 and was Art Director until 1970. Walving is credited with having taught Mats Jonasson the art of glass engraving and his influence is evident in Jonasson's early work.
