Offering some lovely antique German bisque dolls circa late 1800's, fresh from a local collector who had an extraordinary display that was almost like a museum! Each was dressed in custom ensemble that in some cases rival the value of the doll itself.
Featuring here a harder-to-find SP 23 Germany 9" bisque doll by Sonneberger Porzellanfabrik owned by Carl Muller, producing dolls in 1893.
She is bisque socket head, composition 5 piece jointed body, sleep eyes, human hair short wig. Her antique Victorian gown was hand stitched and home sewn, of the appropriate era, and other than age discoloration is excellent.
Doll itself has some smudges that we did not attempt to clean.
She is also dressed in bonus vintage undershirt and bloomers.
Former collector had appraisal value on her at $525 in the 1990's, with a price of $395 over 30 years ago.
Charming sweet doll in a rare size; please see photos for details.
I entrusted my mother and father's (Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz) memorabilia to Connectibles, and during the entire evaluation and auction process, never for a moment did I feel anything less than completely confident, protected and guided by experienced and compassionate professionals who love what they do. We got wonderful results and the best part... it was great fun!"
