This is for 1m or 1.5m lengths of secondary glazing strips which can be used to secure secondary glazing panels to an existing window frame. They are suitable for 2mm & 4mm acrylic, plate polycarbonate or glass panels. We also have 2m or 2.5m lengths which are available. See eBay listing ID 115668691316

Each Kit consists of:

• A white PVC base which is screwed into the framework using the No. 8, 16mm self tapping screws
• Screws (No. 8, 16mm self tapping)
• a top cap which is then clipped into place to cover the screw holes.
• Note: The system for the 2mm glazing is supplied with an additional gasket to accommodate the 2mm glazing panel. This comes ready fitted in the frame.

The corners can either be mitred or butt jointed, depending how you would like the finished product to look. (Mitre not supplied)

If you would like the option of removing the secondary glazing unit in the summer months, the top cap can be removed to expose the screws which in turn can then be removed allowing for the complete unit to be detached from the window frame.

IMPORTANT:  In order to calculate the size of glazing panel you require, deduct 30mm from the external dimensions of the window frame. The strip is 22mm wide so it is important that there is 22mm of flat mountable surface all the way round to ensure a good fit.

Tools you will require:

• Cross Head 2PH (Philips Head No. 2) Screwdriver
• Metal tape measure
• Mitre Box (If corners to be mitred)
• Fine toothed saw
• Marking knife / pencil
• Dia 4.5mm /5.0mm drill bit
• Dia 3.5mm drill bit
• Drill
