this license plate was part of a collection by an elderly farmer in Iowa.  Purchased at his estate sale back in 2003 or 2005.  They were previously stored in the old milkhouse and were dirty.  They have been wiped down with warm water and dish soap and will need further cleaning, especially on the back of the plate
