DESCRIPTION

Second edition, complete in one volumes.

This work is handsomely bound in a full calf binding, with gilt detailing to the spine and to the extremities of the front and rear boards.

Sir James Mackintosh was a highly educated man, who trained as both a doctor and lawyer. In his writings, Mackintosh touches on numerous subjects from politics, philosophy, history and law.

This particular volume, being the second edition, showcases Mackintosh's eclectic writing style.

With a charming ink inscription to the front blank that reads, 'To the Rev.d A R Fitchett, The time having arrived for out departure to other Circuits, we, your junior colleagues in the Dunedin Circuit, wish thankfully to acknowledge your exertions to promote out welfare;- especially would we acknowledge the benefits we have received while under your classical training. CONDITION

In a full calf binding. with gilt detailing. Externally generally smart. Lighr rubbing to the spine with some minor loss to the gilt detailing. Patches of light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Front and rear hinges are very lightly strained. Ink inscription to the front blank. Light spots to the front and rear endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
