DETAILS OF ITEM

This is a Japanese mid century wooden artist carving of a hawk that measures 6 inches high. The artist used a technique called Ittobori that uses one knife to carve the intricate feathers and body of this animal. Once the carving is complete, he finishes it by hand painting the rest of the details.

The condition is like-new and its age is from the 1960's.
