3rd Regiment written below in Korean

Vintage presentation flip open cigarette lighter made by SUNMY "ABC" Lighters of Korea and inscribed and presented by COL. YEO HYUN SOO. The front of the lighter has 3 stylized stars or flowers on the top and the military insignia for the Republic of Korea Marine Corps 1st Division on the bottom with a Korean inscription below it that reads 3rd Regiment. The back of the lighter has Korean script at the top and the presentation inscription on the bottom. The base of the lighter is marked "ABC" SUNMY KOREA with the company logo next to it. Likely presented during the Korean or Vietnam war era.

Comes to you in it's original box (paper insert missing) with some wear. Lighter has never been used. NOT TESTED. Sold as found.

CHINHAE Naval Base is a US Navy base in Korea. It was created just post WW2 when Japan's reign over Korea was ended and the country was split into N. Korea supported by Russia and S. Korea supported by the USA. I'm not sure if this lighter was presented during the Korean War or Vietnam War eras as the base was active during both conflicts. In 1972 the base was renamed Commander Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC), so definitely pre 1972.
