REPUBLIC OF KOREA MARINE CORPS. PRESENTATION LIGHTER
Vintage presentation flip open cigarette lighter made by SUNMY "ABC" Lighters of Korea and inscribed and presented by GEN. LEE BYUNG MOON, COMMANDANT, ROKMC. The front of the lighter has a red flag with four stars on top and the Republic of Korea Marine Corps ROKMC Insignia on the bottom with Korean script below that translates as "Marine Corps Commander Marine Corps Commander Lee Byung-Moon". The back of the lighter has the presentation inscription on the bottom. The bottom of the lighter is marked "ABC" SUNMY KOREA with the company logo next to it.
Comes to you in it's original box with some wear. Lighter has never been used. NOT TESTED. Sold as found.

CHINHAE Naval Base is a US Navy base in Korea. It was created just post WW2 when Japan's reign over Korea was ended and the country was split into N. Korea supported by Russia and S. Korea supported by the USA. I'm not sure if this lighter was presented during the Korean War or Vietnam War eras as the base was active during both conflicts. In 1972 the base was renamed Commander Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC), so definitely pre 1972.
