On offer, we have an original portrait painted by Felix Harta. This watercolor of his infant son titled "Claudi." is signed at the bottom in pencil "Harta 1920". This measures 16" X 12". About the artist: Felix Albrecht Harta (1884-1967) was an Austrian portrait and landscape painter. He served in WWI as a volunteer and official "War Painter". He was founder and president of Der Wassermann a group that helped to bring modern art to Salzburg. Harta had 2 children, a daughter Eva and son Claude.
I believe this is in very good condition for being over 100 years old. The portrait is clear and bold. The paper has toned a bit and there are at least 3 spots. This has been handled and has some shallow wrinkles. There are pieces of tape on the back from where this was once in a matte. As I am not an expert on art, please view all photographs for more description.
My good friend is moving to a smaller home and parting with many of his treasures. He purchased this decades ago at a gallery in Los Angeles.
