There are no markings on this elephant, but I am guessing that it was made in Japan, maybe in the 1950's or could be older. The body is made in two pieces, and you can see where it is split down the middle from trunk to backside and underneath. The material appears to Celluloid with a brown flocking which is worn in many areas leaving the black finish below. The tusks appear to have been reglued. One-of-a-Kind Trunk's Up Lucky Elephant. This was probably a child's toy, but now can take its proper place as a display piece. One chip on the mouth. Measures about 9" long x 8 1/2" high.
