During summer and autumn, Brugmansia develop long, pod-like buds from which pendulous, flaring flowers explode, releasing a tropical fragrance in the evening These ‘Angel’s Trumpets’ boast big blooms that will certainly create a fanfare on a sunny patio.
Brugmansia are frost tender shrubs that are best grown in patio pots and moved into a conservatory or greenhouse over the winter. Plants quickly grow into large and spectacular specimens but can be pruned back to a permanent framework in the autumn. These semi-woody shrubs bear large leaves covered in fine hairs. Height: 2m (78"). Spread: 1.5m (59").
Available as individual Brugmansia 9cm potted plants or as a collection (1 each of the following varieties):
- ‘Single Red/Orange’ – single red flowers blending into orange shades
- 'Single Pink' – single shell pink flowers flushed with pale green at the base
- ‘Single White’ – single, pure white flowers fading into pale green at the base
- ‘Single Yellow’ – single, golden yellow flowers fading into green at the base

Pot up Brugmansia using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.2. Grow Brugmansia in warm, frost free conditions with a minimum temperature of 10C (32F) – a heated conservatory or greenhouse is ideal. Brugmansia requires a bright position in full sun.
Feed and water Brugmansia regularly. During the summer months, potted plants can be moved to a sunny spot outdoors, but must be returned indoors well before the first frosts of autumn. Brugmansia may be pruned if necessary in autumn.
