Description
This is an outstanding purchase diary dated 1861 that belonged to Mr. Alfred Blaisdell of 49 Point Street Providence, Rhode Island that contained several cdv photographs of family members and theatrical stars including a fine tintype of Alfred Blaisdell. The Blaisdell’s were a prominent respected family in the northeast and Alfred was an affluent citizen of Providence. The photographs of entertainers have notations on the verso indicating Alfred saw them perform in person. There is also a notation in this journal that states he paid 25 cents for a Carte de visite. No doubt this included one of these images in this grouping.
