automatic transmission.  Ends slide into case ridges, securing the tool, turn the shank to compress the spring down, then insert

your snap ring pliers into the half moon cut edge; remove snap ring, then release the screw shank to remove tension,

unslide the tool, remove the tool, remove the snap ring and return spring; blow air into the low reverse piston to remove the piston.
