Locomotive Rod, Wheel, and Pin Work, I.C.S. 2507, by G.V. Williamson, published by International Textbook Co., Scranton, Penn., 1929. 5½ x 8½ paperback, 102 pages plus 4 fold-out plates. Reproduced by Nation Builder Books, Mebane, NC, 2020.
This auction is NOT for a printed book. This is for the jpg images of the scanned book, which I will email to you. Some images are of one page and are about 800 kb each. Some images are of two pages and are about 1.5 mb each. Total size for the entire folder of files is about 62 megabytes.
The images are scanned at 400 dpi but at a rather low contrast and balance so as to avoid a lot of gray background. At 400 dpi, you obviously get a better resolution picture than at 300 dpi, but the file sizes are still manageable, unlike resolutions of 600 and more dpi, which can give files sizes of over 15 mb. Each image has been digitally enhanced, and excess borders cropped out
I decided to try selling only these scans, because reproducing the book itself would be around $20 a copy, which would make it much too expensive to sell in a very small and unique market. I wish I were in a financial position where I could do this as a free service for live steam and model engineering enthusiasts, but I simply am not. So, to help me scan and offer more such books, please direct your friends and fellow enthusiasts to my eBay listings. For which I thank you very much!
