Victorian silk shawl/stole. The shawl is 96 inches x 26 inches and is double layered in the sentry with red silk over laid by embroidered black chiffon. The whole shawl is edged in a wide band of black silk finished in a faggot stitch, and there is a deep fringe at each end.

The red fabric is very fine silk which i splitting in places, but this could be kept as a collector’s piece, or the red silk could be replaced and the shawl restored and used.
