This is a beautiful, vintage, limited edition fine art publication. This is #109 (low edition number) of 1500 copies. This soft cover printing features 39 exquisite color reproductions of Toulouse-Lautrec’s original circus crayon drawings. This edition has been realized and published for the Paris Book Center Inc. of New York, under the direction and supervision of Andre Sauret at the presses of Fernand Mourlot in Paris. The printing is undated, however research indicates this was pressed in 1952 and the introduction by Charles Perussaux notes, ‘Today, in 1953…’. Dimensions are 12 1/2” H x 9 3/4” W. The plates are all in very good condition with excellent detail and color registration, no losses or markings. The front and back covers show typical age and wearing, minor creases/nicks along edges and some yellowing/dark spots. Back cover has some adhesive residue along bottom edge. The spine/binding has severe deterioration, with the spine nearly gone and many pages loose or partially loose from the binding. Overall great looking piece. Other (higher numbered editions) selling for higher price, and individual plates broken out sell for significant figures. Rare find.
