FABULOUS PAIR OF VINTAGE DARBYSHIRE AUSTRALIAN POTTERY SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS
Presenting an exquisite pair of vintage Australian Pottery Turkey shaped salt and pepper shakers produced by Darbyshire.
Each of these delightful figural shakers have been beautifully modelled into the freestanding shape of a turkey and richly glazed in striking graduated tones of dark green, yellow and pink. The male turkey is captured putting on a show with his elaborate wide fan of tail feathers on display to the rather more demure female figure. Each piece has an appealing texture which enhances the sparkle of the glossy glazes while adding a wonderful tactile element to the design.
This fine set is a true pair with one hole to the chest of the salt and four to the chest of the pepper shaker.
SIZE: The male turkey shaker stands approx 80mms tall, measures 60mms in width and 55mms in length. The female stands 75mms tall, measures 60mms in length and 40mms in width.
CONDITION: Each of these shakers are presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. The original cork stoppers no longer remain. These pieces have been very well cared for and present beautifully.
