Up for bid is a very nice New York coin silver sugar tongs by John W. Faulkner, ca 1835. The piece is 7 inches long and weighs 61 grams.  It has detailed bird claw grips and unusual shaped fiddle pattern arms with an extra oval extension section.  It is monogrammed “W” on the bend.  It is marked [J.W.FAULKNER] [N.Y.] in rectangles inside of both arms.

Condition on the tongs is quite good.  There are just a few small stubborn spots and normal wear from use.  A fine old sugar tongs!
