This pocket size hard cover book was published under the direction of the Tract Committee of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, of London.  The date of publication is not marked but there is a handwritten note with a previous owner's name and the date Easter 1890 on the front free endpaper.  It has a black and gold decorated green cloth cover.

The 3 x 4 ¾ inch, 95 page book is in fair condition.  The cover is stained and bowed.  The corners and spine ends are worn.  All pages are present with no tears or holes.  There is the note in the front from a previous owner, with at least one small pencil mark in a margin.  The pages are foxed and the outer page edges are stained.  The book has a slight musty odor.
