This hard cover book was published by Hurd and Houghton, New York, 1867.  The book is 4.75 x 7 inches with 346 pages.  It has a burnt orange cover with blind stamped front and gilt decoration on the spine.

The book is in fair condition.  The cover is soiled, heavily bumped at the corners and the spine ends are frayed.  All pages are present.  There are a few pages with short edge tears.  There are water stains along the edges of the pages at the rear of the book.  There are some dark stain spots on the first few text pages that do not interfere with any text.  There are bookseller's marks and a label on the front endpapers and a gift inscription on the first blank page, with no other marks.
