A&D Medical UA-789AC Premium Blood Pressure Monitor — Extra-Large Cuff 16.5”–23.6”, Clinically Validated, 60-Reading Memory, Irregular Heartbeat Detection, AC Adapter, 5-Year Warranty
|
✓ Purpose-Built for Extra-Large Arms — 16.5” to 23.6” (42–60 cm)
The UA-789AC is the only widely available home blood pressure monitor with a purpose-built extra-large cuff. Standard home monitors use 9”–17” cuffs — too small for larger arms, which causes readings to run artificially high. If your upper arm circumference is between 16.5 and 23.6 inches, this monitor solves the cuff-fit problem at the source.

The most important factor in accurate blood pressure readings is cuff fit. The UA-789AC gets it right for larger arms.
A cuff that is too small produces readings that are artificially high — sometimes significantly so. Standard home monitors use cuffs up to 17 inches. If your arm is larger than that, accurate home monitoring requires a purpose-built extra-large cuff. The UA-789AC pairs that XL cuff with clinically validated accuracy (±3 mmHg), 60-reading memory, automatic last-3 averaging, irregular heartbeat detection, 3 programmable reminders, a large backlit display, and an included AC adapter.

| About the A&D Medical UA-789AC |
|
The UA-789AC is designed to solve a specific and common problem: inaccurate home blood pressure readings caused by a cuff that is too small for the user's arm. Standard home monitors top out at 17 inches. For users with upper arm circumferences between 16.5 and 23.6 inches — including bariatric patients and larger-framed individuals — the UA-789AC is the purpose-built solution. It is the only widely available home blood pressure monitor with an extra-large cuff in this range.
Beyond cuff fit, the UA-789AC delivers a comprehensive monitoring package: clinical validation to ANSI/AAMI SP-10 standards (±3 mmHg pressure accuracy), oscillometric measurement with HeartWise™ technology, 60-reading memory with date and time stamps, automatic last-3 reading averaging, irregular heartbeat detection, a pressure rating indicator, three programmable daily reminders, and a large backlit LCD. The AC adapter is included in the box; 4 AA batteries (not included) provide portability for approximately 120 measurements.

Extra-large cuff — 16.5” to 23.6” — the largest home blood pressure cuff widely available; fits 42–60 cm upper arms; eliminates the artificial elevation caused by using a too-small cuff on a larger arm; also accepts UA-280A medium and UA-281A large cuffs sold separately |
✓ |
Clinically validated — ±3 mmHg accuracy — validated to ANSI/AAMI SP-10 standards; oscillometric measurement with HeartWise™ technology on deflation; pressure accuracy ±3 mmHg; pulse accuracy ±5%; range 20–280 mmHg, 40–200 pulses/min |
| ✓ |
60-reading memory + last-3 averaging — stores 60 readings with time and date stamps; automatically calculates and displays the average of the last 3 readings for a more reliable reference snapshot than any single measurement; single user |
✓ |
Irregular heartbeat detection — pressure rating indicator — flags irregular rhythms during measurement while still delivering BP and pulse readings; pressure rating indicator classifies readings against medical guidelines; 3 programmable daily reminders for consistent monitoring timing |
| ✓ |
AC adapter included — battery backup — 120V AC adapter in the box eliminates battery replacement anxiety for daily home use; 4 AA batteries (not included) for portable use; approx. 120 measurements per battery set |

| Frequently Asked Questions |
|
Why do I need an extra-large cuff monitor specifically?
A cuff that is too small for the arm produces readings that are artificially elevated — sometimes by 10–40 mmHg or more. Standard home monitors use cuffs that accommodate arms up to 17 inches. If your upper arm circumference exceeds 17 inches, those monitors cannot give you accurate readings regardless of technique. The UA-789AC's extra-large cuff addresses this at the source.
Does it have Bluetooth or app connectivity?
No. The UA-789AC has no wireless connectivity. You can manually log readings using the free A&D Heart Track App (iOS and Android). If Bluetooth automatic syncing matters and your arm is under 17 inches, other connected monitors are available — however none of those support an arm larger than 17 inches.
Can I use a smaller cuff with this monitor?
Yes. The UA-789AC is compatible with the UA-280A Medium Cuff (9.0–14.6 inches) and UA-281A Large Cuff (12.2–17.7 inches), both sold separately. This makes it practical for multi-person households where arm sizes differ.
Is the irregular heartbeat detection the same as AFib screening?
No. The UA-789AC detects irregular rhythms and flags them while still delivering BP and pulse readings. AFib-specific screening uses a more targeted algorithm to identify atrial fibrillation in particular and is a different feature found on select other monitors.
What is the warranty?
A&D Medical provides a 5-year warranty on the UA-789AC monitor unit and a 2-year warranty on the cuff. The cuff is not made with natural rubber latex.
