In view and available here is an incredibly useful Norman Enterprises light shaping modifier for Norman 10in Reflectors. The modifier is a Norman BD-410 four (4) bladed barn door that is in excellent condition. This barn door is in excellent condition. The Norman catalog from 1994 had this to say about barn doors:
“Barn doors make it easy to feather the light to control ratio and gradation; the shield light from the background; and, to protect stray light from creating lens flare.
Each Norman barn door unit has four fully adjustable barn door wings, mounted on a sturdy frame assembly that snaps one the lip of the reflector. The design allows a full 360º rotation of the barn door assembly on the reflector rim. Top and bottom wings are trapezoid shaped to allow a tighter positioning of the wings for maximum light control.
The barn doors serve as a multi-purpose device - to modify the light coverage and conveniently mount color gels, diffusers, and neutral density filters. Norman filter frames fit easily into the framework of the barndoors to hold filters and gels flat.”
Manufactured of aluminum and finished in non-reflective black, the BD-410 is designed to increase the directional capacity of the reflector, delivering more light to the subject and less to the surrounding environment (like the background). This increases the contrast potential of the illumination and reduces the potential for lens flare.

This used set sells for about half that, provides the same control a new one does and gives you resources for other things like rent, food, fuel and tasty beverages. Though this barn door was designed for use on Norman 10in reflectors, the method of attachment makes it usable on most reflectors with a 10in diameter. This is a great light modifier.
