This is an early stock certificate from the 'Indianapolis & Vincennes Railroad Company.' It was issued in 1868 to Ambrose E. Burnside, the Union Civil War General and US Senator.

It is signed by Burnside as president on the front, and again on the reverse where it was endorsed. There is a revenue stamp on each side.

One of the punch cancellations just barely touches the signature on the reverse side and one of the floating slit cancellations intersects the signature on the front. Generally clean overall.
