This is a two handed large field sword, known as the Nodachi (Odachi). The blade has been constructed from high carbon steel. It is fully functional and the sword is sharp. It can be used for drills, practice or test cutting. The saya is wooden with a white lacquered finish and it fits seamlessly into the handle.  The actual guard (Tsuba) is a compact size black wheel tsuba. The sword looks as if it were a shirasaya (one piece sword) Each side of the guard is secured by a bronze spacer (Seppa), this fitting is only found on hand crafted swords.

The blade also features a Bo-Hi (groove) for better balance and a audible feedback when the  sword is swung. The Kissaki is medium with a well defined Yokote.

The handle is made of white ray skin samegawa and secured by 2 mekugi bamboo pins. The handle ito wrap is synthetic purple leather.

It comes with a silk sword bag.
