This 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" one-piece hub and drum assembly is designed for 9K, 10K, and 13G General Duty Dexter axles manufactured after July 2009. It features an 8-lug configuration on a 6-1/2" bolt circle and includes pressed-in 5/8"-18 wheel studs. This hub/drum will not fit Dexter General Duty axles built prior to 2009.
In 2009, Dexter updated the 9,000 lb and 10,000 lb General Duty axle design. Hubs and drums used on 2009 and older axles are not interchangeable with 2009 and later versions. Brake shoes, seals, and bearings remain consistent across model years, but hub and drum assemblies do not interchange.

R&P Knowledge Hub
On 10K General Duty Dexter axles, the hub and drum assembly supports the wheel, houses the bearing sets, and provides the braking surface for 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" brake shoes. In 2009, Dexter revised the hub design, changing the interchangeability of earlier 288 series components. A common service issue occurs when older two-piece hub drums are mistakenly ordered for newer axles, resulting in improper fitment. Installers should verify axle build date, bolt circle, bearing numbers, and seal dimensions before ordering to ensure correct compatibility.
