This listing is for the exact lot shown.

These are the original 2-1/4" X 3" press/art blocks for a scientific article on pygostyles of Bombycillidae.  Circa 1950.

The blocks are wood.  The attached plates are metal.  The raised illustration appears to still have some dried blue/black ink which gives it a nice shine/contrast.

One block shows end-views, one block shows side-views, in comparison among specimens from across the USA.

The remaining paper wraps are marked "Vol. 3 No. 3 Contri #143" but I don't know the exact publication or author.  Likely University of Kansas Museum of Natural History as other items from this lot were marked as such.

The items shown are exactly what you'll get.  A great collectible for the ornithologist, birding enthusiast, or Natural History collector.
