This is a BRAND NEW Start Assist Capacitor. It is designed to replace the now obsolete Mars # 305C2. Some of the older start assist capacitors had three terminals but only two wires actually going to the start assist (one side was merely jumpered to the other in the three wire format). This new start assist only has two terminals so you will hook up the two incoming wires to either side. Thank you for looking!

A capacitor gives a motor a boost to get it up and running. Start capacitors help a motor/compressor get started, while run capacitors help a motor/compressor get started and run.
