After a single, senseless act of violence shatters his world, sixty-five-year-old Corey Burns sells his possessions, packs a backpack, and begins walking from St. Pete Beach to Key West.

What starts as a journey to find purpose becomes something more-a chance to listen, to learn, and to see the people most of us walk right past.

Along the way, Corey meets survivors, dreamers, and everyday people carrying their own burdens: a retired teacher with wisdom to share, a boy with a broken fishing rod, a widower who still works the water, a cafe owner who always saves an extra biscuit, and a young man trying to outrun a dark past.

Through quiet conversations, small acts of kindness, and the healing power of music, Corey begins to understand something his wife Karen always knew: Everybody has a story. Most people just need somebody willing to listen.

The Long Walk to Key West is a warm, uplifting story about grief, second chances, friendship, and the unexpected connections that can change a life. Sometimes finding your way forward begins by slowing down long enough to notice who is walking beside you.
