It is used to decorate the welt of a handmade leather shoe.
I am not sure of the specific SPI but it looks like it’s 20+. You can use it for hand stitching but I have never tried such a high SPI. I mainly use it for decoration.
Very little wobble and the grooves are sharp. Signs of wear.
