This is a rare antique original SYRACUSE MANGANESE BABBIT small 55 lbs. net wood crate. Dating back to the early to mid-20th century, it showcases a naive and primitive style, with a multi-color design.
Made of wood in the United States, specifically in the US-Midwest region, this crate is an authentic piece from the Syracuse Smelting Works, Brooklyn - Chicago, U.S.A.
Perfect for collectors or those seeking unique antique items, this small-sized crate offers a glimpse into the history of manganese babbit production. Overall dimensions are 11" X 6-3/4" X 5", and weighs 1 lb 13 oz.
I did not do anything to the crate, besides just brush it off. I want to leave it up to the buyer, if they want to polish it up, or leave the original patina. It has really good original graphics yet, and is a neat rare piece showcasing a Native American Chief.
Crate is in good, original used shape, and COMES AS IS AND AS PICTURED. It does have a few blemishes from over the years though. One corner is a little busted up, there are some denting on the inside from the original babbitt bars, and some water marks in the inside. I tried to document everything in the last bunch of photos.

I understand shipping is expensive, but USPS raises their rates 3-4 times a year which unfortunately I don' t have control over. This is not my fault, so I have to charge what they charge. I package items safe and secure, with tracking to make sure it gets from point A to point B. Thank you so much.
Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. Thank you, and you can check out my store for more quality items.
