Offered is a beautiful two-piece collector lot of antique Meissen porcelain with hand-painted floral decoration.

The smaller piece is an oval openwork basket bowl featuring woven basketweave sides, twin loop handles and a braided rim and foot accented with extensive gold gilding. A colorful floral bouquet decorates the center.

The basket bears Meissen’s underglaze-blue crossed-swords pommel mark together with incised production or model markings. This style of crossed-swords mark was used during the 1815–1924 period. Based on its form and decoration, the basket has been attributed to approximately 1890. No cancellation or grind stroke is visible on the mark.

The second piece is a shallow oval dish with elaborate molded shell, scroll and basketweave relief. It is decorated with multiple colorful floral bouquets and delicate gilt accents. Its underside also bears the Meissen crossed-swords mark and additional production markings.

These pieces were manufactured in Meissen, Saxony, Germany and are offered together as a coordinated collector lot. They are not represented as an originally matched factory set.

Measurements:

Condition is excellent for their age. No chips, cracks or repairs were detected. The porcelain, floral decoration and gilding display beautifully. Please review all photographs, including the close-ups of the crossed-swords and incised markings, as they form an important part of the description.
