🇬🇧 RARE 1988 BANK OF ENGLAND £5 NOTE – SE66 PREFIX – G. M. GILL – CRISP UNC

A superb example of the classic Bank of England Series D £5 note, featuring Queen Elizabeth II, with the highly collectible SE66 prefix and the signature of Chief Cashier G. M. Gill.

This particular note is SE66 874070 and is in exceptionally crisp, uncirculated condition, making it an excellent example for the collector of British banknotes.

WHY THIS NOTE IS COLLECTIBLE

The Series D £5 is a much-loved piece of British banknote history. These large-format blue £5 notes were familiar sights in Britain before being replaced by the smaller Series E £5.

The SE prefix is of particular interest to collectors, with SE66 being a late-series prefix. Combined with the exceptionally crisp condition, this makes a very attractive example for a collection.

The note retains its fresh paper, sharp printing and excellent overall appearance, with the corners and edges presenting extremely well.
