Sony MDR-3L2 Vintage Headphones for TPS-L2 Original Walkman

This listing is for the highly collectible Sony MDR-3L2 dynamic headphones, designed for the legendary Sony TPS-L2 first-generation Walkman.

Original MDR-3L2 headphones are increasingly difficult to find, particularly examples that remain in working condition.

These headphones have been serviced, inspected, and tested prior to listing and currently produce clear, enjoyable sound.

Condition

  • Pre-owned vintage item.
  • Serviced prior to listing.
  • Tested and confirmed to be working.
  • Considering the age of the headphones, they have been well preserved.

Servicing & Maintenance

The following work has been performed:

  • General cleaning
  • Dust removal
  • Driver units inspected
  • Diaphragms inspected
  • Plug contacts polished
  • Aging / break-in operation performed
  • Foam ear pads replaced with new generic replacements

Bonus Ear Pads

In addition to the currently installed replacement pads, three colors of new replacement ear pads are included as a bonus.

Please note that these are generic replacement ear pads and are not original Sony parts.

Sound

After servicing and testing, both channels are working and the headphones provide clear sound quality.

These are particularly suitable for collectors looking to recreate or complete an original Sony TPS-L2 Walkman setup.
