Up for sale is an incredibly preserved, beautiful example of a 1940s Retro Moderne statement brooch by the renowned Napier Company. Due to wartime metal restrictions in the 1940s, Napier temporarily shifted production to sterling silver, creating highly collectible pieces that are heavily sought after today.
This specific brooch features a spectacular, flowing double-scroll ribbon layout with elegant fluted coils and high-polished focal spheres. What makes this piece truly exceptional is the condition of the rose gold vermeil (wash)—it remains almost entirely intact bright, and vibrant on the front, showing virtually none of the fading, wear, or dark tarnish usually found on jewelry of this age. There is some wear on the backside near the clasp and the side edges of the brooch. It is well documented in the pictures. I took many pictures of the few spots of wear. Overall the rose gold vermiel on this brooch is in incredible condition.
