An attractive edition of Jules Verne’s classic adventure, following Phileas Fogg and his companion Passepartout on their celebrated journey around the globe.

The deep maroon/plum cloth binding features a symmetrical Art Nouveau-style design of green stems and pink flowers. A dramatic illustrated frontispiece, captioned “The structure fell with a tremendous crash”, adds further period character.

An appealing addition to a collection of Jules Verne novels, classic adventure literature or decorative antique bindings.

SCHOOL PRIZE INSCRIPTION — 1904

The front endpaper bears an ink inscription reading:

“Arthur Wills, Appleby Br. Sch. 1904. For Good Conduct and general good knowledge.”

This records the book’s presentation as a school award and adds a personal connection to its history. The inscription is dated 1904; the exact publication year has not been confirmed.

An antique copy with visible age-related wear.

• Fading to the maroon/plum cloth
• Light shelf rubbing to the edges and slight rounding of the corners
• Age toning to the spine
• Pronounced browning to the outer page edges
• Minor chipping to the bottom corner of the title page
• Illustrated frontispiece present and intact

Item to be returned within 30 days, if found to be not as described. We do conduct investigations for lost and damaged items via shipping, this is why tracked is our preferred shipping method. All costs are at our expense, the item must be returned via recorded/tracked delivery and as soon as we receive we will issue a refund of the cost price only and not the postage costs this is the responsibility of the buyer.
