MADELINE POWER
Arthur W. Marchmont, B.A. | New Edition | 1900
Oliphant Anderson & Ferrier, Edinburgh & London

An attractive late-Victorian novel in decorative green cloth, featuring colourful daisies and poppies intertwined with a golden sickle motif.

Arthur W. Marchmont’s story combines mystery, family intrigue and domestic drama, following Madeline through deception, social expectations and personal trials. Chapter titles such as “Eavesdropping” and “Flight” reflect the novel’s suspenseful character.

The distinctive floral cover and gilt spine detailing make this volume an appealing addition to a collection of Victorian fiction, decorative bindings or Scottish publishing history.
