• Uses SUPER 8 silent or sound cine film.
  • In this listing you get exactly what you see , the camera .
  • Uses 6 x AA batteries ( not inc ).
  • So, the camera runs, the shutter works , I`ve shone a light through while running it ... the powered zoom lens works as does the internal exposure meter system , I have no way of testing the sound controls or function.
  • So , if the motor runs and the shutter opens and closes and the exposure system is working the film is probably going to be OK because there isn`t a lot more to using a cine camera.
  • The battery check button does not work and oddly , while the camera runs nicely , if you hold it flat with the control panel side  facing the ground it doesn`t run .... all the other angles you can think of including upside down no problem at all and you are unlikely to want to run it laid on one side but I thought I`d mention it :o)
  • The lens looks ok , deep inside there are what look like a few strands of hair ( dosen`t look like fungus to me ) and the odd small VERY faint patch of haze and  just some minor dust and the zoom and focus work fine.
  • Normal signs of use to the exterior , the camera is over 40 years old , there is a bit of leatherette peeling on one side.
  • To test all this I`ve used a test / blank film.
  • I have not run a film through and developed it and if you are NEW to cine photography I would advise getting very familiar with all the controls and functions prior to loading a film and if you are going to use it to record something seriously important like a wedding or " holiday of a lifetime " or some other special project, run a proper film through first so you know what you are doing prior to the event because cine film is unforgiving if you get the exposure set up wrong or use in low light etc ( cine cameras do NOT function well in low light )  .
