1950 program for the first annual “San Antonio Livestock Exposition and World
Championship Rodeo”, held from February 17th to February 26th.
Includes one ticket stub for this rodeo, glued on back. This item was glued to
a page in a scrapbook; on the reverse side are various receipts and
passes/ticket stubs. The program has lots of photos and local advertisements
(Humble Oil & Refining Co., Milam Chevrolet, Don Franklin Shows
Carnival-Midway, Pearl Beer, Perry Shankle Co., Frank Vela Floresville
Saddle-Maker, D. Heye Co Texas Oldest Saddle Shop, Manhattan Café, Joske’s of
Texas, etc.). Local names include Perry Shankle, President of the SA Livestock
Expo, Joe Freeman was Chairman of the Board, Joe Strauss, R. H. Friedrich, B. B.
McGimsey, etc.). Included is two-page insert with events per night. Glued to
the back: Justin Cowboy Boots box label; Kallison’s receipt for boots, $22.50;
ticket stub to rodeo; ticket stubs to local theatres (Kelly Drive-In, Mission
Drive-In, Uptown, and South Loop Drive-In); Joske’s of Texas price tag, and
