Festuca Glauca
- This is a
compact, densely tufted, azure-blue ornamental grass. The
fine needle-like leaves are a silvery blue/green in winter. It produces
short spikes of flowers (June to July/Aug), the flowers are a bluey
green and they fade to a buff colour. Grasses are fast becoming popular
perennials for a very good reason - they are so useful. Neat and rounded
in shape they are invaluable for gravelled areas, rock gardens,
borders, large pots and containers. In the border it will provide a
wonderful splash of blue colour. Eventual height 0.3m and spread 0.25m.
Supplied as plug plants 3-4 cm square and up to 10 cm of top growth,
some varieties may be dispatched trimmed back ( stopped/pruned ) to make
