Die rückseitige Beschriftung lautet sinngemäß: „Kantor Schucht in Vechelde mit seinen 4 besten Schülerinnen, rechts neben ihm Anna Prenger.“ Damit ist auch eine der Schülerinnen namentlich überliefert.

The handwritten inscription on the reverse reads approximately: “Cantor Schucht in Vechelde with his four best female pupils, to his right Anna Prenger.” One of the pupils is therefore also named in the contemporary inscription.

Otto Schucht, geboren am 9. September 1855, ist in historischen Schuldokumenten als Kantor und 1. Mädchenlehrer nachweisbar. Die Aufnahme ist ein interessantes Dokument der regionalen Schul- und Bildungsgeschichte im Braunschweiger Land um die Jahrhundertwende.

Otto Schucht, born 9 September 1855, is documented in historical school records as a cantor and senior teacher of girls. The photograph is an interesting document of regional school and educational history in the Brunswick area around the turn of the century.
