Antique Egyptian Revival .800 Silver & Enamel Spoon – c.1920s/30s

A particularly attractive antique Egyptian Revival souvenir spoon, beautifully decorated with colourful enamel and Egyptian-inspired imagery.

Made from .800 grade silver and clearly stamped 800 to the reverse.

The broad terminal features a charming colourful Egyptian scene, surrounded by a striking geometric border of alternating turquoise and deep blue enamel.

The long silver stem is particularly attractive, decorated with a series of blue enamel Egyptian-style hieroglyphic symbols and motifs.

The spoon dates from the early 20th-century Egyptian Revival period, most likely c.1920s–30s, when Egyptian-inspired decorative arts became enormously fashionable.

A lovely and unusually decorative example, with appeal to collectors of Egyptian Revival, Egyptomania, antique silver, enamel work, Art Deco and early travel souvenirs.
