Antique Fenton Peacock Tail Amethyst Carnival Glass 8.5in wide Ruffled Bowl

Condition:

Good antique condition overall with exceptionally vivid multicolor iridescence. Surface scratches and signs of wear are visible in the central well, including several longer scratches shown in the close-up photograph. Natural manufacturing characteristics may also be present due to the bowl’s age. Please carefully review all photographs for the exact condition.

Description:

Beautiful antique Fenton Art Glass bowl in the collectible Peacock Tail pattern, dating to approximately the 1910s.

The interior features a rounded, heavily textured central medallion surrounded by a dramatic radiating design resembling overlapping peacock feathers. The underside is also richly textured, creating additional pattern and color when the bowl is held toward the light.

This bowl was individually shaped into a deep, eight-point ruffled form with alternating peaks and valleys. The dark amethyst-purple base glass produces intense flashes of electric blue, turquoise, green, gold and magenta that change with the lighting and viewing angle.

Its sculptural shape and unusually strong iridescence make it a striking centerpiece, display bowl or addition to an antique carnival-glass collection.
