good condition. Please see the photos. Poster dimensions: 78 x 58 cm. Published in the Soviet Union in 1961. Features Yuri Gagarin and space themes; Yuri Gagarin depicted on a flag.
The Soviet propaganda poster "I know of no other country where a person breathes so freely!" was created by the artist Maria Alexandrovna Marize in 1961.
The poster is executed in the classic Socialist Realist style of the Khrushchev "Thaw" era. During this period—particularly following Yuri Gagarin’s space flight in April 1961—the slogan celebrating the "person who breathes freely" and the greatness of the Motherland took on a new, optimistic, and cosmic resonance. Original copies of this poster are currently held in museum collections (such as the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow) and are highly prized by collectors at antique auctions.
