I was able to place through this to assess where it is at. The valves are operating smoothly.

I sensed some air, especially when I used the second valve. That’s when I spotted the slight crack in the second valve tuning slide. When I covered it, the whole horn came to life, and it had a terrific, marching baritone sound.

The lead pipe is bent to the left a little bit.

All tuning slides are moving. Some could use a little cleaning and then lubrication.

So if a competent brass technician were to spend some time with this to square away these things, you would have a very high high-quality marching Baritone.

The water keys are functioning properly, and the pads are doing their job. Overall condition of the instrument is accurately portrayed in the picture.

The middle latch of the case is bent a little bit. I can get it too close, and the other two latches are fine, so the instrument is reasonably secured in the case. Oops. Just noticed there’s a latch on the end of the case. It is missing, but still the case is getting it done. We will ship this carefully and safely.
