Whilst fair to say that this is not a top quality piece it does hold significant historic interest to both Masons and Daniels collectors.

It derives from the confused and little documented period around the 1846/47 period when R Daniel briefly acquired the Masons Fenton factory before his own bankruptcy.

A 9.75" hand painted chinoiserie bowl.  It bears the rare impressed 'Daniels Real Ironstone' mark which is overprinted  (very poorly) in blue with the Mason's crown and banner mark.  The reason and purpose of this seem to remain unclear.

The bowl is in sound antique condition with no significant chips, cracks, or staining.  There is a very thin star hairline in the well and also seen on the underside. However the manufacture is of poor quality displaying a number of significant firing / glazing imperfections. with the rim very 'grazed'  and lacking glaze in places. Please see close up photographs.
