 Item Description

Up for sale is a very rare vintage copy of Super-Detective Library No. 65, published in October 1955 by Amalgamated Press in the United Kingdom. This classic digest-sized picture library comic features Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary sleuth in two complete, illustrated black-and-white adventures: "The Mystery of the Red-Headed League" and "The Case of the Greek Interpreter."
This issue is highly sought after for its striking, hand-painted cover art by renowned British illustrator Bill Lacey. This specific copy is the scarcer overseas distribution variant, featuring the original yellow "Price Overseas 1/2" circle printed on the upper right cover.

The comic will be bagged and shipped with cardboard to protect. The package will have a "Do Not Bend" in red ink stamped on the front and back. Please see all of the pictures supplied for further information on this great comic.

  • Grade: Fair to Good (approx. 1.5 condition area). This is a complete, reading-grade copy.
  • Spine & Staples: The original metal staples have completely disintegrated due to age and rust. This has left typical rust-staining and browning marks on the paper around the staple areas, which is most noticeable on the outer pages.
  • Pages: Because the staples have rusted away, the interior pages are now technically loose from the binding. However, they remain neatly and securely held in place by their original tight folds.
  • Cover: The cover shows some general vintage wear, minor creasing, and small tears along the edges consistent with age.
