A superb antique Norwegian glass fishing float produced by Bjørum Glassworks, which operated from 1873 to 1886.

This example carries the scarce “E” seal, deeply and clearly impressed into the glass. The float is made from beautiful dark forest-green glass and remains in unusually fine condition — one of the cleanest E Bjørum examples I have encountered.

Most importantly, it is still enclosed in its original hand-knotted hemp fishing net. The aged, weathered fibres give the piece wonderful authentic maritime character and confirm its long working history along the Norwegian coast.

A rare opportunity to acquire a remarkably complete and highly displayable 19th-century Norwegian float.
