This is one very rare Australian comic as shown in the pictures supplied. This is a standard size edition with 24 pages in black and white print.

Up for auction is an incredibly rare piece of Australian comic book history. This is Lance Harwood Issue Number 2 featuring the story Range War, written and beautifully illustrated by the legendary Australian cartoonist and historian, Monty Wedd. Published circa August 1956 by Calvert Publishing Co. Pty. Ltd. at Angel Place in Sydney and printed by Rotary Colorprint Pty. Ltd. on Hamilton Street, this item is an exceptional artifact from the golden era of local Australian pulp publishing. Due to strict government import restrictions on American comic books during the 1950s, unique homegrown gems like this were printed in very limited quantities on local newsprint, making them highly collectible today.
This classic saddle-stitched issue originally sold for a cover price of one shilling. The book features a vibrant, matte color cover with a striking Western standoff scene drawn by Wedd.

 The comic will be sent within the protective comic sleeve and special backing board as shown in the 1st picture supplied. The comic will be shipped with additional cardboard to protect it. Condition


The comic is complete and is in the Good to Very Good 3.0 condition area. This is a complete copy that shows some wear around the edges and covers. The covers look great.  The main and only real issue a 4 mil tear near the middle of the spine. The middle 4 pages are loose (I'm think the saddle stitching missed them). No coupons have been cut from the comic. There are no newsstand pricing stickers, pen marks, or date stamps on the covers. This copy does not have a spine roll. Overall this is a complete copy that is ready for another read.
